The production forming process of molded pulp involves a water suspension of fibers being deposited onto a screened mold. After mixing, the pulp part is formed to shape by custom designed tools. The tools consist of a metal net supported by a perforated mold. The machine is lowered into the slurry and the water is pulled through the metal mesh by applying a vacuum, the suction helps to bind the fibers.
